SideKick's update tightens transients before the compressor
SideKick's update puts phase align and trigger lookahead in the same box. If your layered kicks smear on the way in, open that one first.
▶ SideKick's update tightens transients before the compressor
Detect and Auto modes line up layered transients before the compressor grabs them. Multiband gets linear-phase crossovers, and the sidechain trigger can see ahead.

▶ O'Flynn-style plucks from one Serum patch
The pluck gets big by duplicating chord notes across octaves and using per-voice panning instead of heavy unison. Same wavetables on the bass layer, plus an inverted mod-wheel-to-drive map so the level holds when the cutoff opens.
▶ Stacked saturation on low samples, no synth required
Repeated instances of the same saturator on low-frequency samples get aggressive, near-dubstep textures without opening a synth. Modulate EQ bands with LFOs and record the output for one-shots.
◢ free & gear
TDR Nova now runs natively on Linux(free)
Free, no account, no checkout; VST2/VST3 files install to ~/.vst or ~/.vst3. Use it for frequency-specific sidechain ducking on Linux.
RF-E's sidechain filters keep bass from triggering the compressor(pwyw)
High-pass the sidechain so bass-heavy material doesn't drive the compressor on every hit. Pay-what-you-want, with VST3/CLAP/AU builds.
◢ the word
A Gaza producer's five years of beats, plus a fundraiser
Abed Eyad started on a phone and now works in FL Studio. Create or Die runs a chuffed.org fundraiser for electricity and family support.
The two preset save paths are not the same data
Save from the DAW window header to keep settings with the project; save inside the plugin GUI for cross-DAW recall. The folders can sit next to each other and still hold different data.
AudioMass adds multitrack editing to the browser
Drag multiple files in and it creates channels; offline mode works in Chrome or Firefox. It's an editor, not a DAW — quick waveform work without installing anything.

- 1. Load Serum 2, init, set osc A to an analog wavetable like ARP 2600.
- 2. Alt/option-drag osc A to B, tune B up as a higher-frequency layer with some unison.
- 3. Add pink noise, high-pass it slightly.
- 4. Set filter slope to 18 dB, route osc A and the noise through it, leave osc B bypassing the filter.
- 5. Modulate filter cutoff with envelope for a plucky attack on osc A.
- 6. Let some of the noise bypass the filter so texture stays when the cutoff closes.
