Inspired by the early disco label Henry Street Records, Henry Street Music was founded in 1994 and is based in Brooklyn, New York. The label releases house music and operates the sublabel Muggsy Records. Its first release was numbered 162 after Johnny D's former address in Brooklyn. In 2014 the label issued vinyl reissues for its 20th anniversary, and in 2024 it released a Record Store Day compilation for its 30th anniversary.
