Rolling-sub fix: note gaps + up-to-30 ms release

Your rolling bass keeps weight but reads as rhythmic hits instead of a constant sub drone.

1. Duplicate your upper-bass MIDI to a new sub. Load a stock synth: single sine, no unison/FX/dist. Same MIDI notes only; keep just the fundamental.
2. Set the sub’s amp release very short so note‑offs hit silence. Shorten the sub MIDI notes to make tiny gaps; low‑solo with a stock EQ while you tweak.
3. Alt method: shape the amp envelope so it decays to silence just before the next note; confirm by ear or on any stock meter/scope. A/B against step 2.
4. If you hear clicks on low keys, raise release up to 30 ms. If it smears into the next hit or kills the gap, back it off.
5. Sidechain the sub to the kick with a stock compressor keyed from the kick; pull gain until the kick stays clean and the sub reads as hits.

why it works: Shorter MIDI notes or a fast amp decay create real silence between hits so the sub isn’t constant energy; a short release fades note‑offs to tame clicks on very low notes; sidechaining carves kick space so the bass feels like pulses, not a drone.
