Serum 2 acid lead trick
Pluck the filter, not just drive.
Route a 0-attack, ~100 ms decay envelope to a low-biased bandpass cutoff; set sustain 0, key-track 30–50%. Envelope the diode-style drive with the same shape but low mix, so it bites only the transient. The filter sweep creates the squelch; drive alone won't.
