PULSEMELT ducks its own tail and degrades it—free VST3
The VST3 plugin MKNE just dropped ducks its own reverb tail and degrades it through tape grit and bitcrush—no sidechain needed. The pitch drift LFOs never repeat the same way twice. Fire up your DAW and drop it on a synth pad.

PULSEMELT: wet tail ducks itself, drifts, and degrades—no sidechain needed(free)
Free VST3. Tempo-synced dual-tap delay with cross-feed gives you a continuous tail. Morph from clean through tape saturation to bitcrush and sample-rate reduction with the GRIT knob. Built-in ducking pulls the wet signal down under the dry without a sidechain. Asynchronous pitch LFOs per channel keep the drift from looping. Wet-side fixed high-pass at 150 Hz stops mud. MELT macro scales wet/dry ratio and ducking depth together.
Ableton Live chatter spiked 18× this week—door-slam kicks, Drum Bus tricks, and the 12.3 update. Pro Tools talk centers on the new DeliveryQC marker export, while Vatra (the quadraphonic spatial processor) keeps surfacing in experimental circles.

PSP Levelizer rides gain like a fader, not a compressor
$49 until June 30. Auto-fader that holds a target level or follows an external reference track. Three reaction modes: Sharp for transients, Smooth for natural riding. Sidechain EQ with Shape and Bell filters lets the detector focus on specific frequencies. Lookahead timing for live, tracking, mixing, mastering. Built-in brick-wall limiter with drive, ceiling, release, stereo linking. Works on vocals, bass, drums, podcast dialogue, mastering prep.
Alchemy's new sync mode makes granular weird—here's how to tame it
Sync mode in Logic 12.3's Alchemy ties grain size to pitch—great for noisy textures but tricky for tonal patches. Initialize preset, drag a sample onto Source A, switch to Granular engine, enable Sync. Formant shift +12 semitones brightens tone; compensate with Coarse Tuning -12 to keep original pitch. Add taps with semitone intervals for rhythmic repeats. Modulate loop start with an LFO via the modulation router for evolving movement. Band-pass filter smooths the grit.
▶ Door slam → industrial kick: trim, pitch envelope, and Ableton Drum Bus
Trim the sample start tight, then use a pitch envelope for thump. Close a filter to focus low energy, open it back up with an envelope. Hard shaper adds aggression, sustain mode avoids clicks. Sub filter tightens the sub. EQ cut around 300–500 Hz clears the boxy bloat. Ableton Drum Bus saturates and crunches; dampen to control brightness.
