The bass fix that takes one knob turn
Your bass patch might be fighting itself before the mix even starts. Today's lead walks through the most common ways that happens in a progressive context, and the fix is usually a single knob turn.
▶ Stop chasing sub-bass you can't hear
Your growl might just be an octave too low — below the point where the fundamental is even audible. The fix is a small move, and the video also covers filter envelope shaping for that stabby Prag-style attack and why narrow stereo width matters more than you think.

▶ The two-oscillator pluck that fills space without muddying it
Start from sine waves, not saws, and stack a second oscillator an octave up for the air. The mid/side EQ move at the end — cutting mud only in the side channel — is the part that makes it sit in a deep mix.
▶ Sweep the macro, find the track
Before you arrange, sweep every macro on your lead and note where it breaks. Those extremes become your intro, drop, and B section — the creator mapped them first and the arrangement followed.

Two Lexicon-style verbs join the free Relic bundle(pwyw)
The RF-224 is a Lexicon 224 emulation with nine programs and separate decay control for bass and midrange. The mid/side processing added across all fifteen plugins in this update means you can shape the reverb's stereo field without extra routing.
The bass processor that splits compression from harmonics(free)
Normally $79, Black Salt Audio's Low Control is free until November 12 (email signup required). The two-section design lets you compress only the low band and add harmonics separately, so you can tighten the sub without touching the highs.
◢ the word
A unified Mixxx build for standalone DJ hardware
Mixxx is consolidating its standalone DJ builds into one upstream project, so a free, stable alternative to manufacturer-locked hardware is getting closer. The Raspberry Pi rigs some people already run are about to get less hacky.
Twin 3 now bends per note, not per track
The update adds full MPE with per-note pitch, timbre, and lift assignable in the mod matrix, so you can shape individual notes of a chord independently. The new preset packs from bManic and others give you a few hundred expressive starting points.
