Sub note truncation for rolling bass clarity

Your track's sub groove regains definition instead of droning constantly, keeping the dancefloor engaged.

1. Copy the rolling bass MIDI to a sub track, load a sine‑wave synth (e.g. Operator, Simpler, Vital).
2. Shorten the sub MIDI note lengths to create gaps between notes and restore rhythmic definition.
3. If your track is in a low key (E, Eb, D), set the synth's release to about 30 ms to avoid clicks.
4. Solo the low end to check the sub now has clear groove, not a continuous drone.
5. Make sure sidechain compression between kick and sub is set up.

why it works: Low-frequency waveforms need space; shortening notes prevents a 16th‑note sub from merging into a drone while preserving perceived weight better than a pluck envelope.
